Harold Tarbell

Senior Associate

Currently based out of Vancouver, Harold Tarbell is a member of the Mohawk Nation at Akwesasne, a First Nation community located in Ontario, Quebec and New York State. Harold’s work experience has included serving as the Tribal Chief (1987-1990) on the US portion of Akwesasne, Multicultural coordinator for the North American Indian Traveling College, Land Claims researcher for the Union of Ontario Indians, Parliamentary Liaison with the Assembly of First Nations, Director of the National Aboriginal Management Board, Executive Director of Buffy Sainte Marie’s Cradleboard Teaching Project, and Chief of Staff to National Chief Ovide Mercredi during the Charlottetown Constitutional Negotiations.

As a Senior Partner in the Aboriginal consulting firm of Gaspe Tarbell Associates, formed in 1992, Mr. Tarbell has provided group facilitation and training services in strategic planning, team building, conflict resolution, board development, youth programming, policy development and consultation for a wide variety of Aboriginal, corporate, and government organizations.
