Federal Consultations with Ethno-Cultural Communities: Lessons Learned and Suggestions for Good Practice

Client: Canadian Heritage, Multiculturalism and Human Rights Branch

Designed and conducted an environmental scan of federal consultations with ethno-cultural communities. A research template exploring key factors in successful public engagement/awareness practices was developed. Data collection included over 20 interviews with federal employees responsible for public awareness/consultation, as well as documentation sources. The analysis led to the development of a practical tool for public servants which included samples of good practice as well as relevant policies and resources.
