Strategic Planning Development and Support

Client: Canadian Cooperative Association

One World designed and facilitated several planning sessions for CCA that explored different facets of its strategic planning process. The first event assisted the organization in assessing and improving the association’s capacity to develop its base. In subsequent meetings, we worked with the Board of Directors, management and staff to assess the capacity to achieve stated business objectives and to develop appropriate plans for improvement.

In 2006/07, we worked with CCA’s domestic team and two Board-appointed committees to develop a National Co-operative Development Strategy and National Co-operative Funding Strategies. We provided input to the visioning and strategic planning processes, as well as facilitated linkages between the work of both committees. The work resulted in CCA’s Co-operative Development Strategy Council recommending a comprehensive Canadian development strategy.

Over the last three years, several meetings have also been held with the International Development program to develop and implement a strategic operations plan.

The project scope included:

  • Providing ongoing strategic advice
  • Design of multiple processes and planning retreats
  • Drafting of a strategic operations plan for the International Development Program
  • Preparation of meeting reports
